Youth Drummer laces a "djembe" drum |
Thirty girls really "floored the audience", said Kate Henry, program
supervisor at Briggs. Students displayed remarkable talent and composure in
performing in front of the audience. After Group A and B did their separate
pieces, they all got on stage to take a final bow and then began playing
together and performing spontaneously. The girls then welcomed their instructors
to join in the drum/dance piece. All performers received an overwhelmingly
positive feedback from staff and family.
Youth drummers also exhibited their talents at a CT Youth Funders Conference at
the Waters Edge Resort and Conference facility in
